1. Flower gardens with zinnia, marigold and cosmos are open!

Fields of flowers have opened in Kashiwai-machi and Bokke-machi . The zinnia, marigold and cosmos flowers were grown by the students of Kashiwai Elementary School and the staff of the city organization, which aims to foster future agriculturalists. The flower gardens are intended to “double up” as test-cultivating flower fields. They will also serve as an example of how farmland can be utilized in urban areas. You can enjoy seeing the flowers and you may also pick them. Why don’t you come and feel comforted? Access: Take a bus from JR Nishi-Funabashi Station for Shiei Reien, get off at Kashiwai stop and walk for 10 minutes.
There is a parking lot for 5 cars.
+ Kitakata flower picking garden
Address: 4-1989-1, Bokke-machi
Access: Take a bus from JR Nishi-Funabashi Station for Shiei Reien, get off at Fujiwaradai and walk for 10 minutes.
No parking lot.

2. Have you received a new National Heath Insurance Card?

  National Insurance Cards were revised on August 1, 2010 and new ones have already been delivered by registered mail to persons insured. If you have not yet received your card, it is possible that no one was at home when the card arrived. Registered mail without recipients is kept at the post office for a while. Then, without your notification for a second delivery, it will be sent back to the City Office. Please take steps to get the card immediately, by coming to the nearest counter of the National Health Insurance Division. When you do so, please bring the householder’s authorized photo ID card such as Juki card, driver license, passport, or alien registration card. (lf a family member comes, bring the visitor’s ID card). If you don’t have an ID card, bring an old N.H.I. card which expired on July 31, 2010. If you don’t have either of the above items, the City Office will send it to you by mail. In this case, contact the National Health Insurance Division at City Hall, Division of Welfare at Gyotoku Branch Office, Ogashiwa Branch Office, Minami -Gyotoku Civic Center or City Administration Service Center at Ichikawa Station.

To those who registered for the National Health Insurance System:
It is time to receive a new national health insurance card.
If you have not yet received it, please proceed as follows:

If you don’t have an ID card, bring an old N.H.I. card expired on July 31, 2010. +If you don’t have either of the above items, the City will send it to you by mail. Please contact one of the counters.

3. Are you fully prepared for an earthquake?
  

September 1st is Disaster Prevention Day. Please keep the following in mind for an earthquake, so that you can act calmly at the critical moment.

Be prepared with the following at all times:

+ Take a portable radio with you.                                                                                                         + Keep flashlights, gloves, water, sturdy shoes like sneakers, etc. in the workplace.                   + Talk with family members beforehand on how to ensure your safety, and where to meet.         + Make sure of a route to go home, by actually walking the way, and map it out beforehand.      + Make your house more earthquake resistant and fix furniture to prevent from falling.
If an earthquake occurs when you are out, be mindful of the following:                                            + Protect and secure yourself.                                                                                                              + Confirm the family safety by calling “Disaster Message Exchange Dial 171”, and so on          + Get information and check on damage to transportation services and roads.                            + Evaluate your surroundings accurately and act calmly and cautiously.                                         + Help each other outside until you are able to go home.
