Ichikawa City

 
This is the city information to make your stay in Ichikawa comfortable and pleasant.  The program will be changed every two weeks.  You can also listen to this by dialing 336-8010.  The headlines are as follows.  The Ichikawa City Telephone Service...... September 15th, 2010.

1. Don’t miss the child allowance

 
If you receive the child allowance consecutively after the child subsidy, you’re required to submit Genkyo Todoke (the current state report).
The report was to be filled in and returned by June 30th and has already been sent to the person who receives the child allowance.
If you don’t submit it, you’ll miss the allowance, which is to be paid in October.
Please submit it immediately, since it is still possible to submit it, though the deadline is over. If you don’t have the form, please contact the Foreign Residents’ Assistance Desk.

1. For people who haven’t yet applied for the child allowance
Those who fit the following conditions   to   are required to submit the "Kodomo Teate Nintei Seikyusho" (Child Allowance Authorization Application Form) or the "Kodomo Teategaku Kaitei Nintei Seikyusho" (Certified Invoice for the Child Allowance Revised Amount) to receive the child allowance.

The form and instructions have already been sent to residents eligible for the allowance. However if you haven’t received it, please contact the Foreign Residents’ Assistance Desk.

Eligible residents are those whose children have not completed junior high school (eligibility continues until the first March 31st after turning 15) and under the following conditions:
@ Have moved into Ichikawa city before March 31st, 2010
A Have not received the Child Subsidy.
B Have been receiving the Child Subsidy and whose children are in 2nd or 3rd grade of junior high school now.

As a temporary measure, if you apply for the Child Allowance until Sept 30th (Thu.), you will receive the allowance dating back to April. However, If you have moved into Ichikawa City or have a child after April 2010, please be aware of that the allowance would, as a rule, start from the month following the application.

2. The Ichikawa International Exchange Association will open a stall at the Citizens Festival!

  Again this year, the Ichikawa Citizens Festival is to be held on November 6th (Sat.) at the Osu Disaster Prevention Park as an opportunity for citizens to interact and communicate with each other.
The IIA (Ichikawa International Exchange Association) will open a stall focused on disaster prevention for foreign residents.
The stall will present a quiz on disaster prevention and offer a prize, exhibit disaster prevention items, sell authentic Indian food, and provide information on IIA.
Take this opportunity to learn about disaster prevention and enjoy a break with a nice Indian curry.

3. Enjoy a day in autumn at the Ichikawa Citizens’ Campground!

   Have you ever heard of the Ichikawa Citizens’ Campground?
Ichikawa Citizens’ Campground is the place where you can just relax and enjoy camping without the trouble of traveling.
Tent sites, cooking places, campfire sites and restrooms are provided.
Camping equipment is lent free of charge.
It’s fun to camp out with your family and friends.

Take Keisei Bus bound for “Shiei Reien” at JR Nishi-Funabashi Station North Exit or JR Shimousa-Nakayama Station North Exit.
Get off at “Kashiwai 4 chome” bus stop and walk 15 min. from the bus stop.
○Day-Camp: 9:30 ~ 16:30
○Stay: Up to 3 nights-4 days
○Charge: Free (except for firewood)
○Application: Apply from 1 week to three months prior to the camping day.

  Children under high school and not being accompanied by parent/guardian can apply only for the Day-Camp and are required to submit a letter of consent from the parent/guardian. Parent/guardian’s company is required for staying overnight.
